Print the whole part — not the puzzle. The Original Prusa XL+ Single-Tool Head is the lowest-cost way onto Prusa’s large-format toolchanger platform. You get a full 360 × 360 × 360 mm cubic build volume — about 46.7 liters, roughly 3× a CORE One+ and 1.5× a CORE One L+ — so props, jigs, architectural models, cosplay armor, fixtures, and production parts come off the bed as one piece instead of a glue-up.
This is the second-generation XL. Compared with the original Prusa XL, the XL+ prints about 10–15% faster, uses new 1.5 mm GT belts, adds a nozzle wiper, improves toolhead and electronics cooling, and ships with fully automatic tool-offset calibration via a dedicated electronic sensor. The frame is already tooled for extra heads: start with one Nextruder today, add a second or fifth later, and keep the same machine.
CoreXY motion with Input Shaper and Phase Stepping keeps layers smooth at speed. The Nextruder direct-drive extruder handles PLA and PETG as easily as TPU and carbon-fiber composites, with a max nozzle temperature of 290 °C. Quick-swap nozzles cover fine detail (0.25 mm), everyday work, high-flow bulk (0.6 / 0.8 mm / CHT), and abrasives (hardened steel).
The segmented heatbed uses 16 individually controlled tiles up to 120 °C. Only the area under the part heats, which cuts power draw on smaller jobs and improves first-layer consistency across a 360 mm plate. Automatic LoadCell first-layer calibration measures real nozzle-to-sheet distance — including after nozzle changes, sheet swaps, and thermal expansion.
Open materials policy: any brand of 1.75 mm filament. No chips, no lock-in, no subscriptions. Supported families include PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PC, PA (nylon), TPU, PVA, HIPS, PP, CPE, PVB, and carbon-fiber composites. A silicone printing toolhead is planned for Q4 2026.
The XL+ is designed from the factory for elevated chamber temperatures. Add the official Enclosure for Prusa XL+ whenever you need a sealed, draft-free environment:
You do not need the enclosure for PLA, PETG, or many composites. Add it when large ASA, ABS, PC, PA11CF, or other engineering parts start to warp, or when you want filtration and a quieter shop. Pair the enclosure with the upcoming heater when you need the full 60 °C chamber for big, boxy technical parts.
Ships assembled. Attach the toolhead, run the calibration wizard, and print. Connectivity is Ethernet with optional Wi-Fi and optional Prusa Connect; the printer is fully usable offline, with a removable Wi-Fi module and no forced cloud. Smart filament runout pauses the job; power-loss recovery resumes after an outage.
Firmware is open source. The machine is user-serviceable with a screwdriver — no glued assemblies or proprietary locks. Spare parts are intended to stay available for 5+ years. Designed, made, and tested in the EU and USA. Typical package includes the printer, handbook, Prusament PLA 1 kg, satin print sheet, toolhead with high-flow nozzle, USB samples, toolset, and wipes.
If most of your work is soluble supports or multi-material production, Dual-Head or Five-Head is the better starting SKU. If you print large single-material parts and want the upgrade path, Single-Tool is the smart buy.
Included Software
PrusaSlicer, EasyPrint, Prusa Connect, the Prusa App, and firmware updates are included and available at no additional software cost.
