BAi Multi Needle Embroidery Machine Comparison Chart

BAi Embroidery Machines · Comparison Guide

Mirror vs. Vision vs. Vision Dual Head

All three run on the same Institch i5 platform — the difference is speed, embroidery area, and how much volume you need to run. Compare specs side by side to find the right fit for your shop.

Choosing The Right BAi Machine

Same platform, three levels of production

The BAi Mirror, BAi Vision, and BAi Vision Dual Head all share the same Institch i5 control system, 15-needle color changes, and the training and support that comes with every BAi machine. What changes as you move up the line is embroidery area, stitching speed, build quality, and — with the Dual Head — the ability to run two jobs at once. Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a BAi Machine — Common Questions

What's the real difference between the Mirror, Vision, and Vision Dual Head?

They all share the same Institch control platform, but scale up in embroidery area, cap speed, build quality, and — with the Dual Head — number of heads. The Mirror covers 350mm x 500mm at 1200 SPM; the Vision covers 400mm x 500mm at 1200 SPM flat / 800 SPM caps; the Vision Dual Head matches the Vision's specs on two independent heads, up to 950 SPM on caps.

Which one should I buy if I'm just starting out?

The BAi Mirror. It's the most affordable entry point into commercial-grade, 15-needle embroidery, and it's a proven starting machine for home-based and small custom shops.

When should I upgrade from a Mirror to a Vision?

When you're consistently filling orders and need a bigger embroidery area, faster cap speeds, or the refined build quality behind the Vision's Superior Performance engineering — full cap and hat frames and 10 flat frames come included as well.

Is the Vision Dual Head worth the extra cost over a single-head Vision?

If you're regularly filling bulk orders, team uniforms, or tight deadlines, the Dual Head roughly doubles your output without doubling your floor space or your team — for many shops that pays for itself quickly. If your order volume doesn't yet require that throughput, a single-head Vision is the more efficient buy.

Can I upgrade a Mirror or single-head Vision into a Dual Head later?

No — each machine's configuration is fixed at the factory. If you outgrow a single-head machine, the move is to purchase a Vision Dual Head rather than convert your existing machine.

Do all three machines run the same software and controls?

Yes. All three use the Institch i5 / OS5 touchscreen with the same guided 13-step workflow. Institch Cloud — for managing multiple machines and calculating job costs automatically — is included on the Vision and Vision Dual Head.

Are accessories interchangeable across all three machines?

Yes. Richword embroidery thread, stabilizers and hat foam, and the Mighty Hoop kit all work across the Mirror, Vision, and Vision Dual Head.

Is financing available, and does it apply to all three machines?

Yes — Swing Design offers both Personal and Business Financing on every BAi embroidery machine, including the Mirror, Vision, and Vision Dual Head.
