Make your xTool X1 a metal marking machine with the xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source Expansion Laser Kit. This 30W infrared fiber laser source mounts on the back of the X1 through xTool's Laser Swap™ platform. It adds the 1064 nm wavelength that metals absorb best, so you can make sharp, durable, wear-resistant marks on stainless steel, aluminum, copper and coated metals at galvo speeds of up to 6,000 mm/s across a large 610 × 305 mm work area.
Important: The 30W Fiber Galvo Source provides only the laser source. It requires the xTool X1 20W Diode Galvo Module, which focuses and steers the fiber beam through the X1's flying-galvo optical path. Make sure your X1 has the 20W Diode Galvo Module installed, or add it to your order.
Swing Design is xTool's largest dealer, and we carry the 30W Fiber Galvo Source, the 20W Diode Galvo Module and the full X1 lineup, so you can build a multi-laser X1 that handles wood, acrylic and metal in one machine.
Do I need the 20W Diode Galvo Module to use the 30W Fiber Galvo Source?
Yes. The fiber source provides only the laser. It runs through the X1's flying-galvo optical path and the 20W Diode Galvo Module, which is required.
What metals can the 30W fiber laser mark?
It creates clear, durable gray or black marks on stainless steel, aluminum, copper and coated metals.
Can the 30W fiber laser cut metal or engrave deeply?
No. xTool says the 30W fiber source is best for metal marking and shallow engraving, not deep engraving or cutting metal. For deep engraving, color marking and more advanced metal work, look at the 60W MOPA Galvo Source.
Can it engrave wood, acrylic or other non-metals?
The fiber laser isn't meant for non-metal materials. Use the X1's 55W CO2 laser or the 20W diode for wood, acrylic and leather.
What's the difference between the 30W Fiber and the 60W MOPA?
Both use a 1064 nm wavelength. The 30W Fiber is a metal marking specialist. The 60W MOPA has adjustable pulse width, which adds color engraving on stainless steel, black marking on anodized aluminum and deeper metal engraving.
Can I run the fiber laser with the CO2 laser in one job?
Yes. The X1 supports multi-source jobs, so you can mark with the fiber laser and cut with the CO2 laser in a single setup.
Can I have more than one galvo source installed at once?
The X1 connects one external galvo source at a time, either fiber, MOPA or UV, through Laser Swap™.
Does the 30W Fiber Galvo Source work with other xTool machines?
No. It's designed only for the xTool X1.
