White underprinting is a technique where a white layer is printed first and then the colored image is printed on top of it. This provides true and vivid colors, without it, the colors would look faded or wash out on the surface of clear or dark media.
With white overprinting, the color image is printed first, and then the white layer is printed over the colored image. This is primarily used when printing on transfer paper where the image is mirrored and will be heat pressed.
