Yes, you would be able to cut fabric for rag square quilts with the Cameo 5A! We highly suggest using a light tack or heavy tack mat, depending on the type of fabric being used. You can also use the rotary blade when cutting, as it is designed specifically for fabrics and other difficult to cut items.
