Unfortunately, the PE900 does not have the proper hoops to embroider on hat shell hats (baseball hats, trucker hats, etc). However, you can embroider soft hats or hat patches with the PE900, using the standard flat hoop to hold the fabric. If you are interested in a machine that can embroider onto hard shell hats, you can look at the Brother PRS100 or the BAi machines.
