Yes, you can change thread when you are in the middle of embroidering. This can be if the pattern calls for a color change, the machine will stop and give you a moment to re-thread with the new color. The embroidery machine will also automatically stop if there is a thread breakage, the bobbin runs out, or the needle breaks.
