Does the Electrostatic mat only work with Cameo 5?

The Electrostatic Mat is designed to only connect to a front of a Cameo 5 or the Portrait 4. Unfortunately, it cannot connect to older models, such as the Cameo 4 line. There is a separate style Electrostatic Mat for the Silhouette Portrait 4, and it is built into the Curio 2's main framework.
